Install instructions
There are two methods to install linaro builds:- using pre-built image
- creating your own image with linaro image tools
Using pre-built image
# Insert SD card and note the assigned '/dev/sdX' or '/dev/mmcblk0' $ dmesg $ SDCARD=/dev/sdX # sdcard found from dmesg above $ URL=http://releases.linaro.org/12.02/ubuntu/beagleboard/beagle-ubuntu-desktop.img.gz $ curl $URL | gunzip -c | sudo dd bs=64k of=$SDCARDNote: Windows users may use the Image Writer for Windows
Building a Custom Image
Download hwpack_linaro-omap3-x11-base_20120221-1_armel_supported.tar.gz and linaro-o-ubuntu-desktop-tar-20120223-1.tar.gz from the links below# Get linaro image tools # method 1: using binary package for Ubuntu (PPA) $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:linaro-maintainers/tools $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install linaro-image-tools # method 2: using source code $ wget http://releases.linaro.org/12.02/components/platform/linaro-image-tools/linaro-image-tools-2012.02.tar.gz # Insert SD card and note the assigned '/dev/sdX' or '/dev/mmcblk0' $ dmesg # Create media $ sudo linaro-media-create --mmc /dev/sdX --dev beagle --hwpack hwpack_linaro-omap3-x11-base_20120221-1_armel_supported.tar.gz --binary linaro-o-ubuntu-desktop-tar-20120223-1.tar.gz # For adding graphics acceleration, activate the universe and multiverse repositories, then install the following packages: $ sudo apt-get install libegl1-sgx-omap3 libgles1-sgx-omap3 libgles2-sgx-omap3
# Before using it just be sure your user is also included at 'video' group
